Pekah Reigns over Israel

²⁷ In ^(A)the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, ^(B)Pekah son of Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria and reigned twenty years. ²⁸ And he did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he made Israel sin.

²⁹ In the days of Pekah king of Israel, ^[a](C)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon and Abel-beth-maacah and Janoah and Kedesh and Hazor and Gilead and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and ^(D)he took them away into exile to Assyria.
